Project Details

The project began with conditioning the existing 126,000 square foot production area to achieve a 63% humidity level. The building will be expanded to include 3 phases of additions to create a total of 230,750 square feet of new construction. The floors are a fiber reinforced 8-in. slab with diamond plate light reflective shake-on hardener. The slab uses armor joints at cold joints to minimize wear and tear from forklift traffic. Cranes will be provided throughout the building. Electrical service for the new part of the plant will be tied into the existing service and the plant will include a mechanical bump-out room on the front. It was imperative that both production and administrative work continue during construction; the existing office is situated within Phase 3 and will be removed and converted into production area. Metal building columns were set in place through the roof of the office so that construction of the production area can be completed and allow construction of the new office area to begin. The innovative solution allows us to keep on schedule and administrative staff will not have to move to temporary offices, they will be able to make one move to the newly constructed office space.
