This project is part of The Meadows development in Abingdon, Virginia. All development within The Meadows requires compliance with the Town of Abingdon design standards. The facility has an automatic carwash with vacuum equipment. The wash bay entrance and exit are framed by brick columns and have a sweeping polycarbonate roof. The exterior is a combination of brick and aluminum composite material (ACM) and glass. This is an alternate design from the standard design for the carwash. The alteration to change most of the façade to brick was required to meet the Town’s design standards. Doug’s carwash is an environmentally sustainable business. A water reclamation system was installed to reduce water usage and to provide for reuse and filtration of water. Doug’s reduces, reuses, and recycles water to help promote a healthy ecosystem.
